A Sunny Engagement Session at Pasadena City Hall

If you’re looking for one of the best engagement photo locations in Los Angeles, Pasadena City Hall always delivers. Between the arches, courtyards, and European-inspired details, it’s a dream backdrop for couples who want photos that feel both classic and personal.

This session took place in the middle of the day, right when the sun was high and the plaza was glowing. It was the kind of shoot that feels easy and light, with a couple who clearly knew how to enjoy the moment. After years of doing long distance, this was their first time living in the same city. You could feel how much it meant to both of them. This was more than just an engagement shoot. It was a celebration of finally being together, for real, with no more planes or countdowns.

Even more exciting, their wedding was only a few days away. They were getting married at Disneyland, which I was also lucky enough to photograph, and this session felt like the perfect warm-up before the big weekend. No stress, no rush, just two people soaking in the sunshine and this new chapter.

We explored the open plaza and walked through the soft shadows of the archways. The light bouncing off the neutral stone gave everything a soft, clean look. Even in full sun, the building photographs beautifully. That’s one of the reasons I always recommend Pasadena City Hall for engagement photos. It works at any time of day and gives you room to move, play, and just be yourselves.

Sessions like this remind me that you don’t need dramatic lighting or fancy locations to tell a love story. What matters is the connection between two people and being present enough to notice the little moments as they happen.

If you’re newly engaged and thinking about where to take your engagement photos in Los Angeles, Pasadena City Hall is one of the best spots out there. It offers a mix of romance, architecture, and California light that just works. Whether you’re counting down the days until your wedding or simply want to capture this season of your relationship, a session like this is a great way to mark the moment.
